This is Caroline's inspired idea to create elegant stylish designer pendants, earrings and bracelets from ordinary glass bottles and jars!

This material is carefully cut, melted down and then fashioned by hand into each style. Caroline uses sterling silver wire and other glass beads which makes this range of jewellery really affordable and fun for everyone.

This glass is collected within a three mile radius of the studio or is Caroline's household glass waste. These bottles are cut, melted and then hand fashioned and designed into beautifully elegant jewellery pieces. Ethical and environmental choices are continually made throughout the design process.

Caroline is passionate about her work and the environment. Over the past year the two have entwinded together more and more, as the use of recycled glass has increased throughout her work. Also she has taken a step further and now uses rain water instead of tap for glass processes. All paper, cardboard, other glass and plastic etc used in the studio are religously recycled. Un-necessary materials are minimised and little details like turning off all the power when it's not needed are really important and make a great impact on our environment.

The materials used are sourced for their impact on the environment also. This is why European beads, recycled sheet glass and off-cuts, natural fibres and other products are used, minimising the total carbon footprint of each piece made by 'Janganant Designs'.

Caroline has nearly ten years experience working with all aspects of glass and silversmithing. She has an array of qualifications and skills from studing glass blowing in Northern Ireland with American Master glass blower Paul Marioni, to studing glass fusing at Bath, silversmithing and jewellery design at Camberwell and Brighton. She has developed different techniques and methods to create her highly creative bespoke designs and ranges with high standards of quality and wearability in mind.
